Global City Mission Initiative (GCMI) is working to see disciple-making initiatives in strategic global cities around the world starting in North America. In order to effectively advance disciple-making in urban settings, we focus on these three areas of ministry:
- Evangelism & church planting in global cities
- Coaching local believers to reach their communities
- Providing equipping & training for established churches
Member Care Coordinator works with Global City Mission to coordinate holistic care for members of the Global City Mission team across multiple cities & regions.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively initiate internal communication with GCMI team members.
- Support team members through active listening.
- Pray regularly for GCMI team members and their ministry efforts.
- As appropriate, provide coaching to team members helping to address personal care, ministry focus, or relational issues.
- As needed, facilitate connecting team members with help, partners, and/or resources to aid team members work through personal and/or relational issues.
- While practicing discretion, help make GCMI leadership aware of themes or general concerns impacting the overall health of the team.
- Advocate for holistic health & wellbeing in the rhythms & concerns of GCMI as an organization.
- Be attentive to care & personal development resources to benefit the personal development of GCMI members.

- Be adaptable. Learn from successes & failures in facilitating care among ministry team members.
- Share a general alignment with the GCMI Philosophy of Ministry.
- Be committed to prayer and to their own personal wholeness & spiritual health.
- Ability to listen to concerns of team members, leadership, or GCMI partners, and when necessary managing tensions with objectivity.
- Be a cheerleader of individual ministry efforts of mission members.
Expectations
- Member Care Coordinator may serve in either a part-time or full-time role within the GCMI team.
- The postiion may be bivocational or missionary funded.
- For mission funding, personal partner-raising (ie., support raising) is required for salary &/or work-fund expenses.
- Member Care Coordinator is a remote position. Locating in the metro area of a global city is preferred but not required for this position. If not presently living in a global city, a background of living in an urban environment is highly recommended for building understanding with the missionary experience.
