Are you passionate about mobilizing others? Do you get excited to see a disciple connect their particular gifting or interests with God’s mission? Do you want to help move mission forward by mobilizing believers & churches to make disciples? Consider serving as a Mobilization Catalyst. Mobilizers represent an essential role in the missionary enterprise. The first step is simply having a conversation to discover the potential for serving. Global City mobilization is comprehensive, and mobilizers may be involved in all aspects of mobilization. Also, mobilizers may choose to adopt a specific emphasis, such as activating youth & college, focusing on a specific metro region, or connecting churches with equipping opportunities. A discovery conversation is a simple first step, without making any commitment, to explore whether Global City Mission might be a good fit for you.

Global City Mission Initiative (GCMI) is seeking regional mobilization catalysts. Global City Mission is working to enable disciple-making initiatives in global cities around the world starting in North America. In order to effectively advance disciple-making in urban settings, we focus on two areas of ministry:
Global City mobilizes missionaries to engage in cross-cultural outreach and apply multiplication strategies, and we mobilize believers and churches to reach their own communities for Christ.

As a mobilizer, you are working to help churches to equip & mobilize their members locally & beyond and helping believers find their mission. Mobilization involves a multi-layered strategy. It includes identifying candidates as potential missionary catalysts or interns, activating individual believers to become disciple-makers in their own communities, and connecting with churches to mobilize their members in their city. Mobilizers are essentially those agents serving to activate Jesus’ followers into the harvest as disciple-makers.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively share the vision of Global City among members of Christ’s body.
- Actively connect believers and churches with Global City and help determine the appropriate pathway forward for each person and/or church.
- Identify opportunities and/or partnerships for connecting with potential missionary candidates. For example, Christian colleges/seminaries, local campus ministries, Perspectives course(s), church mission fairs, etc.
- Initiate connections and steward relationships between Global City and potential mission workers.
- Call upon believers to become disciple-makers in their communities, introducing learning opportunities.
- Utilize media and other communication tools to share Global City’s ministry.
- Identify churches/ministries that represent mobilization & equipping opportunities in his/her region and/or metro area and facilitate training schedules between Global City and church leaders.
Qualities & Characteristics
- Practice strong self-leadership. Be self-initiating & self-managing in day-to-day tasks.
- Be adaptable. Learn from successes & failures and be capable of evaluating mobilization strategy to recommend and/or implement needed changes in their local context and/or among niche populations.
- Share a general alignment with the Global City’s Philosophy of Ministry.
- Be committed to prayer and to their own personal wholeness & spiritual health.
Expectations
- Mobilization Catalysts may serve in bivocational, part-time, or full-time roles with Global City.
- For those Mobilizers desiring a salary or needing to raise workfund expenses as a regional mobilizer, personal partner-raising (ie., support raising) is required for salary &/or work-fund/expenses.
- A mobilizer may focus on their specific region and/or a focus demographic (ie., college students; local churches; bivocational; etc.).
