Over the last few days our intern team had struggled, not finding much receptivity when it comes to people being interested in learning more about Christ. However, that soon changed on Friday. We were doing our regular prayer walking through the neighborhood park and we stop and sat down to seek people that may be interested. Even though I had not sat down beside anyone, my teammate Helen soon came up to me and said there was a really nice lady on the other side of the playground with her kids but they could not communicate together because she only spoke Spanish, so I went over to talk to her.
Like Helen had mentioned, she was very nice. She was there with her four kids just watching them play and have a good time and we soon began conversing. At first it was simple small talk, but once she asked what I was doing here in New York I began to tell her about our mission and the various activities we have been doing so far. She seemed very interested and I called over Jaime so he could talk to her more about it as well. She actually mentioned that she had never had anyone really talk to her about Christianity before (she has some catholic background) and was actually really interested because she thinks she can find peace in it and she even let us pray with her. I really enjoyed the conversation with her and I am looking forward to following up with her, so hopefully it will work out and it just gave me a spark of hope that there are still people willing to listen!

Persons of peace come in the most refreshing people. Let Luke 10 be your guide! Awesome reflection!
