India is a mission priority. It is trending towards soon becoming the most populated country in the world, and India is host to more unreached people group than any country on earth. As India continues to grow, 1 in 6 people on earth will be from India, and the United States is the 3rd most popular destination for Indian migrants worldwide. Reaching out to migrants from India should be a diaspora missions priority.
Atlanta is one of the top ten largest Indian communities in the U.S. Atlanta’s Asian population has doubled since the start of the 21st Century, and during a recent 1-year period Forsyth county, an Atlanta suburb and home to a 60-acre cricket field, boasted the fastest growing Asian population among all U.S. counties. Mostly concentrated in the Northeast suburbs of the metro area, a third of Atlanta’s Asian community is from India. And from Bollywood to Indian food & fashion, Indian culture is represented in the Atlanta region.
Atlanta is quickly an Asian hub in the Southeast region, and it is one of the largest Indian metro areas in the U.S. For those with a heart for reaching the unreached from India, metro Atlanta may be an unexpected mission field.
