As an Hispanic in ministry, my desire is to make known the needs of Jesus and his redemptive works in the streets of New York City as well try to emphasize the necessities that each culture has. When one finds themselves walking along the city’s streets, one faces the reality of the people and their unawareness or apathy towards what is known as an established church or religion, and traditions and sects who dispute the absolute truth.
For me personally, my experience with an organic church and the work of GCMI has been very enriching for my ministry as well as for my theological studies; Being in the streets makes you aware of the lives that each person is experiencing as well as reflect on the importance of our work here. This summer we have tried to implement new ideas with the team as a whole. Our Summer ministry team come from different places, each speak different languages, and we work together for one purpose — to serve God. Glory be to him.
