Brian is a citizen of Mexico, Ireland, and the USA, born and raised in southern California, in the county just north of Los Angeles. His background gave him a love of all things Latino and cross-cultural: people, food, music among other things. Travel too, along with agriculture and the outdoors. He became a Jesus follower many years ago in California and is excited at this next step in the journey!
Brian serves as a Catalyst in Salem, Oregon. Salem is the capital city of Oregon, and a quarter of the city’s population is Latino. While always ready to share the gospel with the unreached of any background living in Salem, he is intentionally reaching out among the Latin American community in & around the city. As an E.U. passport holder, Brian also hopes to bring the same mission to Barcelona in the future.
His travels have taken him to various parts of Mexico and to Dublin, Belfast, and County Donegal, where he visit close relatives., and he lived in Mexico City for short time during his college years. As a Peace Corps volunteer in the agriculture program, he worked with subsistence farmers in a Panamanian village so small it’s not on the map. As a Spanish-English interpreter, he spent a short mission term in Guatemala with a medical missions team helping interpret between the nurses and the indigenous patients.
Brian has studied Apologetics & Culture with Trinity Seminary based in Indiana. He had earned a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning in Washington State, spending most of his career in public service of one kind or another, including working with military veterans at risk of homelessness. The Lord has instilled in him a great concern for the spiritual and material well-being of others, recognizing that our true treasures lie in wait for us in eternity.
