For many followers of Christ, we want to reach out to our own communities or to an unreached people in our city. We want to share good news and to gather people together to engage God’s word. For most people, we need just a little more training to equip us to step forward. We might need a little coaching to help us get through some of the common challenges that can become a barrier if we were completely on our own.
Global City Mission is prepared to be your guide. Participating in a Disciple-Maker Cohort, you will receive training & live coaching in relational evangelism, starting a new group, and facilitating inductive bible discussions. We recognize that the best way to learn is by doing, and doing is most practical when there are guides to help us along the way.
Disciple-Maker Cohorts include 7 sessions each lasting up to 90 minutes. You can participate from any location as long as you can access Zoom. Training modules include: Foundations for healthy evangelism & starting spiritual conversations, Finding relational inroads that work for you, Sharing stories in everyday conversations, Building on your spiritual conversations, Identifying persons of peace, Facilitating discovery bible discussions, and Moving forward & multiplying.

Overview:
1. Foundations for healthy evangelism & Making spiritual statements
Session 1 presents key principles for meeting people where they are while maintaining a bold gospel witness. It includes making spiritual statements as a first step in starting spiritual conversations and as an application for abundant sowing of seeds in everyday conversations.
2. Identifying relational inroads for developing evangelistic relationships
Session 2 presents a number of potential inroads for connecting with new people. Christians have insulated themselves from unbelievers, and this session encourages followers of Christ to enter social settings where they can initiate spiritual conversations.
3. Bringing bible stories & our stories into spiritual conversations
Session 3 brings the concept of gospel storying into everyday conversations. It encourages utilizing both bible stories and testimonials to integrate the gospel of Christ into conversations.
4. Building on spiritual conversations
Session 4 highlights additional practices for initiating or following up on gospel conversations, including inductive evangelism, missed opportunities, etc.
5. Seeking persons of peace as doorways into new communities of people
Session 5 describes persons of peace as entry points into a new social circle and reflects on the lived experience of applying this strategy in Western urban contexts.
6. Facilitating a discovery bible discussion to form a new discipleship community
Session 6 walks through the process of a discovery bible discussion, utilizing open-ended questions, focusing on application of the word, and setting a baseline for discipleship.
7. Key practices that help promote reproduction of ministry
Session 7 highlights practices that help lead to reproduction and also emphasizes the relational investment beyond a regular group meeting.
