Are you interested in cross-cultural mission work? Miami is a multicultural & international mission field. The metropolitan area of Miami is reportedly home to over 2,400,000 global migrants. Spanish is as common as English, but Haitian Creole, Jamaican Patois, Turkish, or Arabic are easily encountered as well. More than half of Miami-Dade county was born outside of the U.S. If we hope to connect with global peoples, Miami is a global hub. Known for its large Cuban populations, Miami is a gateway for people from throughout the Caribbean and South America as well as other parts of the world.
Miami is home to unreached people groups too. West of Hollywood & Ft. Lauderdale areas, Metro Miami hosts clusters of Indian Hindus, Pakistani Muslims, or Israeli Jews. In fact, the city hosts one of the largest Jewish populations in the U.S. And it’s not difficult to find representatives of the Turkish community near Miami Beach or Arab communities around Miami’s Upper East Side.
Nearly half of Miami residents never attend a religious service of any kind. Surveys of religious participation nationally suggest that Miami is less involved in religious life than residents of major cities like New York. Driving throughout Metro Miami, you might not observe nearly as many physical church buildings as many other cities across the U.S. Miami is a city in need of cross-cultural missionary catalysts who desire to apply contextual strategies and serve incarnationally.

Our Catalyst Core youth discipleship group in Fredericksburg prayed together for this Miami mission field last night. We are trusting God for more laborers to be sent to the harvest field.
